Another fantastic club comp today, thanks guys! JB ran a slick comp with el presidento Casso and head judge Simon. I won't list the results as I had to go, sorry guys - daughter's last soccer game for the season.

I heard Pete Morgan won which is awesome, he was gouging massive hacks all day. Sorry to Steve for the drop in, at least I am living up to my reputation....lol.

Some of the surfing today was really impressive with a bunch of new faces in the final.

Pete, will get the jacket to you ASAP, just couldn't part with it Nah, I paddled out in the final and remembered it was still hanging on the front door where it lived the last couple of months... Sorry about that

I know I will get red thumbed for this BUT, I think the NSW's team has the goods to take out the title. Flame suit on doors locked and new hair cut

What an outstanding day. Skywriting, vintage plane flypast and vitamin drink sample truck have set the bar pretty high - can't wait for Palmy in Oct!!

Icing on the cake for me was Scotty's home brew soup.

yes was an epic day the gods really shown on us today as the waves were so fun and the sun was shining just epic day and a great kick of to the year.
The standard of surfing was really high everyone was going nuts i was just stoked to get through my semi then to come second even better and to stops goaties winning run yep was good. Pete was ripping and a great win congrats mate.
p.S casso not a pb for me was second last comp just hope i can finally win one

The level of riding has become so high, and every heat draw is difficult!

Loco, I think today I was surfing a bit above my skill level, stacked a lot of moves that I probably should have back off a bit on The board was rocking today

Looking forward to next event, Hope to see you all again then if not before. October 10th at Palm Beach.

Yep to everyone, was a top day ! Personal worst for me surfing wise ( might actually surf a bit before October ) but still thoroughly enjoyed the day!

Perfect weather, awesome waves, ripping surfing, fantastic chicken soup, skateboards in the carpark, tight cornering race action, it was all there.

Bottom line though is a great bunch of people!

Thanks to JB for running it, and Dan you are the worst Head Judge ever!

P.S. a speacial mention and thanks to East Coast Sup for coming along, supporting the club and throwing out some extra prizes.

Ha ha.....yeah but we have a lot of fun doing it!

Seriously though since the club started 12 months ago, as Casso said, the standard of surfing has improved dramatically. While surfing comps aren't everyones 'cup of tea' they make you try things you might not normally do, even when you're free surfing.

If you are into comps though, the regular club rounds really help with contest strategy, etc. We regularly get up to 30 competitors and even getting out of the 1st round is a mission. Now we have young guys like Steve M and Dan pushing it harder every comp. The six man heats are gnarly as well.

Best part though, is that the club is made of a great bunch of like minded people and the 'vibe' is very friendly - although maybe not with some of the local prone surfers....lol.

Yes great day guys! Like Simon, the body was not willing even though conditions were excellent!

Amazing to look back to the first comp just a year ago and the numbers of crew turning up. Support was awesome from all the sponsors and it looks like the new committee will take it to another level.

Might be time for a Masters division I reckon! 45+.
