Our fifth event in the 2012/2013 season is coming soon. Keep Sunday, 14 April 2013 free because it's looking like a doozie. It'll be at Palm Beach and there's no need to bring your raceboards to this one because the BoP race is going to be on Naish N1SCO 12'6" inflatables! This special one design race is open to all members whether you've been in a race before or not. Separate women's and kid's races will be run so bring your wives and grommets to enjoy the guaranteed fun. Single event memberships available (refundable if you don't have fun).

Here's an estimated schedule for the day:

- 7:30 am - Setup, competition entries accepted
- 8:00 am - Cut off for surfing competition entries, heats drawn up for surfing competition
- 8:20 am - Round one of surfing competition starts
- 10:30 am - Round two of surfing competition starts
- 11:30 am - Final of surfing competition starts
- 12:00 pm - Women and junior N1SCO paddle races start
- 12:30 pm - Open N1SCO paddle races start
- 1:00 pm - Presentation

Andre will no doubt conjure up his usual delicacies for lunch - that's worth turning up for alone.

This is an awesome opportunity for you all to bring along friends and family for a fun and exciting experience on SUP. No experience needed, first time racers welcome. all in the name if "FUN".

BTW, I will have enough paddles also if we get a full newby heat, so no stress, just come along.

Hope to see you all there.

Sounds like a great idea. For more fun we could run the entire comp on them and run Tom Carrol format. Every wave a party wave.

The challenge is out to try and steal the championship jacket off the carry-over champion:

Tip: You'll wanna try pretty hard - he's an OK SUP surfer.

Probably should have just got the tailor to custom fit the jacket for that bloke and be done with it.

Definitely not Tony Abott! (well at least not that I know of).

Swells looking nice for Sunday, and I think Monday's swell will move forward into Sunday also.

Yeah how good is that cutty. Watched that heat, there was a little kid from the Central coast called Harry in it as well. He absolutely rips, chucked an air at one point and ended up beating Tom.

The comp was so good, we hand Aussie champ and World #4 Beau Nixon, Toby form the Central coast, Kai Bates, Tom and all the best guys in Sydney - was like a state titles only harder.

Well done Casso and also Simon who Tallied and spotted all day as the comp went til 4pm.

So much for numbers being down in surfing comps. There was a flat water race as well in Sydney on the same day.

Yeah - that cutty of Tom's is etched in my mind, he held that rail ALL the way around and just had so much speed. Best cutback I've ever seen - including shortboards. Glad you got a shot of it Jezza.

Yep... some great surfing in every heat, was great to have super's from all over Sydney as well as from the north and south coast. Congrats to Marty who surfed amazingly well all day to take out the the prize. the guys and girls who organise the club comp do a fantastic job at every event.

Cheers

Great turnout & comp thanks guys. Shame I was a bit under the weather & couldn't stay but I'm getting too old to do a surf comp after a night in kings Cross.
Too bad about the protests after the scores were done not once but twice! Young Harry was a clear winner on the day & maybe not a good lesson in fairness. Watch out for him in the future the kids got talent!

What was that? I didn't hear anything about it.

I judged Harry's heat against Tom and he smashed it on all the sheets. Definitely a star of the future.

Yeah Harry is gunna be a star I scored his first heat where he beat mr TC .... The kid smashed it I through him a 8 point ride for one air drop floater ripping !!!
Not sure what heat you are referring to? I was likely in the water as didn't see what happened or went on???
But yeah in my book he's the best young supper I've seen !!

One Rep heat was scored/marked up completely incorrectly where my mate was given a 1st for the heat (which we were all very surprised about) but later ended up being dropped to 4th! Not ideal for someone at their first event - but these things do happen.

Are there any more pics?
