Thanks for the photos and vids of the series. Inspiring stuff for an old longboarder just getting into SUP.

some great shots there, it looks like casso's performance sup seems to manoeuvre more freely with being 26ins wide compared to all the others, whilst not detracting from those riders abilities, seems to be a big hole in the market with performance mal style sup boards ATM, as what I have seen of those available are all 30 inches plus wide logs?....

Not sure if your quite on the money there ockanui?? Are you going off the photos?
I think Casso's new stick is 28 wide only one inch narrower than several other boards in the division and just from observation of Casso on the day it does not look super loose with wide point well forward it looks more like a stretched Minion than a Mal. Very interesting nose entry and super deep double concave through the tail. Casso rips on anything and surfed unreal as usual yesterday with a lot less Mal style that he usually has on his Deep custom Mal Sup. I think only his second day of surfing on it...........so could be very ominous when he has it dialed.
Look forward to his review. Always a good read.

Yes, funsrf'n my comments were made based upon the snaps, having seen the video there are some great action surfing, so yes it looks like some boards can match performance....From a laymens perspective without shaping experience the development of short board design and technology IMO has been more advanced that in the longboard performance design and I think there is a great opportunity in that area to improve for the riders just wanting a little more zip out of that style of board.
I've checked out a few shops in my area and the boards are all 30inches wide+ so I would assume that is where the market lies, I'll do some more internet research, which I shoulda done before making comment, sorry... Maybe I just need to get one made instead....
