2011 SA WINTER FLATWATER RACE SERIES
The first of three flatwater races to make up the Winter Race Series will be held this Sunday, 3rd July at ENCOUNTER LAKES,Victor Harbor.
To register, meet at the park, corner of Bartel Blvd & Matthew Flinders Drive, Encounter Lakes at 9.00am, race start 10.00am,entrance is $10.
The course is approx 6 kms(twice around the lake) in very protected waters.

RACE 2 on 7th August at WM HUNT Reserve, Onkaparinga River
RACE 3 on 28th August at WM HUNT Reserve, Onkaparinga River, presentations after at Pt Noarlunga SLSC(12.00)
All races are in a calm water environment & as part of the SA Ocean Paddlers Winter Series are open to skis, kayaks & sups.

I'd be keen to give it a crack - have only ridden my SUP a few times so far though - but someone has to come last!!! Do I need to be awesome to enter?!!!! Haha :) Rach

Hey Rach.
Come on down! Would be great to have more Sup racers! Last race we had 3 newbies and one of them came 2nd for the women! No prizes as such but they record your time and give you a certificate. Its a fun crew and everyones welcome!

Hey Liz, thanks for the reply!!! I was just talking myself out of it - but think you just talked me back into it!!! I have a SUP but haven't really used it much and want to get into it a bit more! My mate said he'd lend me a race one - my guess is it'll be less stable - not sure i want to fall off!!! Hahaha - does it get hot paddling in a wetty?
