Hi everyone , Broke my third paddle today, Its my third over three yrs so not to bad but Ive saved all the paddles and handles just need shafts .It seems that no one sells them individually ,Why is this so ? I know you can buy them for kayaks and canoes but the extra lenghts seem very difficult to obtain . This has to be a con Please advise if they are available and where from ,many thanks in advance .

Try www.kenalu.com.au they sell all of their components separately, try find a dealer in your local area they will help you out.

I'm not affiliated or financially backed by kenalu, although if they wanted to sponsor a below average, fat, weekend warrior I'm their man i do use one of their paddles, and I purchased it amongst other reasons because they have spare or replacement parts.

Hi Redfezz

You can buy shafts from CST Composites in NSW

I bought one from here www.cstexpress.com/carbon-fibre-tubes-c-23.html?osCsid=fkgo58f29j2cbrqu0eautpcuu7

You choose the "inside diameter" and "wall thickness". This will then determine the outside diameter.

Cost me $156 plus postage.

They make them up for you, once you put an order in. Think it took me about 2 weeks to receive it.

Australian made and really nice. Used mine a lot since June 2016, and really like it.

I had to replace a shaft in a 2015 Naish Kaholo.

This is the size I bought

Hi Aaron, how did you go getting the broken shaft out of the blade? I've had a broken Nash Makani paddle in the corner of the garage for a couple of years. Put the shaft back together and OK for kids but would like to get the paddle blade back on a decent shaft.
Thanks JackG

Hi Jack

I carefully pried the old shaft out with pointy nose pliers.

Once you start to break it out, the old shaft will disintegrate. It wasn't a difficult job, you just need to do it slowly.

Outside diam 25.2mm,0.99"?? how did you get that right. 1" and 25.4mm OK. Getting ripped off buy the Chinese again. I tried to get a key cut the other day and they couldn't do it because it was thinner than the blanks they had. When your making thousands of them it makes a difference.

Hi Guys ,thanks for all the leads followed them all up ,still no joy .The fellow at Erina only had bits and pieces of broken paddles that he did insert repairs with ,and the composites factory supplied sizes that are not compatible with my Naish paddle and handle. The other paddle company mentioned ,use a tapered shaft with a large dia at the bottom and tapering smaller to top and at $225 I,m not fused on buying one to see if I can get it to fit .
Ive written to two carbon factories and am still waiting reply ,I,m sure it would be easier if I knew what I should be asking for ,anyway its a learning curve and if you don,t ask you wont get .I persevere and keep you guys in loop.
Cheers .
