Hi all,

Here's just a reminder that the SUPSA Twilight Paddle Series kicks off tomorrow.

There's been a change to the venue due to recent changes to Council's permit structure pending further assessment.

New venue: Tallebudgera Creek meet at Kevin Gates Park, Awoonga Ave, Koala Park Tallebudgera

Time: Meet 5-5:15pm for 5:30pm start

Proposed course: 2km and 4km options over a 2km course (shorter course option available for children too)

Unfortunately for us that the Gold Coast City Council has suspended all water sport activities in Lake Orr where this was our proposed venue for the Twilight Paddle Series. We also tried for other venues but this was also the case.
They are carrying out a Water Safety Analysis on these areas deeming a temporary closure till further notice.
We hope to be granted a new permit to use the Lake Orr water way for round 3 onwards.
Sorry for the late notice!
See you Tuesday afternoon at Tally Creek!!

What a great turnout tonight for the first round of SUPSA's Summer Twilight Series and some awesome weather to kick off the series, with clear skies and glassy conditions on the water (although I think the tide was hard work one way!)

We had 21 paddlers across the 2km and 4km events and 4 kids in the kids race as well as a whole lot of club members there to support the event even if they couldn't make it in time to paddle.

Here's a link to the times for all paddlers in the 2km and 4km events so you can all set yourselves a goal for next time!

We'll try to get the Sunny Coast style timing spreadsheet setup in the next few days, and maybe a few photos of the afternoon too.
