As much as I love my Glide I have always felt the paint job could be better especially on the bottom and gloss always looks nicer.

Be careful of the weight of the paint. A paint job with enough layers, with the protective varnish could add 1kg to a big board.

So, if weight is an issue, have the old paint removed first.

That's something I had not considered!

hi Dave ,i resprayed a old windsurfer ones .done the hole bit ,undercoat ,then 2 coats.lol.
i should of weighed the 3 cans first ,it turned it into a heavy pig,i gave it away,

the GS has a matt finish ,you could wax and buff it up ,you will get a bit of a shine .

you know its meant to be rough so it slides through the water like a sharks skin.

even my carbon GX 14 jav, has the rough bottom .i wax mine lightly too,keeps the dirt off and seems slipperier through the water.

meguiars yellow wax.

Maybe my idea is not such a good one, I know Matt is suppose to be faster but when you see SIC and Jimmy Lewis boards as an example the gloss looks better.

maybe just a clear 2 pack coat of gloss won't be too heavy ,

looks aren't everything

you could save for another full gloss GTW and give the misses the GS,

you will see all the new models next month ...AUGUST.
