Hi, I left it under the sun and the round piece where the windsurf base can be attached, lets the air out. I see it is slightly unglued, but nothing broken in the fabric. How to and which glue to use to re-glue it? Thanks a lot! JP

Two guys had the same issue with a Fanatic Air on the Gong forum ("bonson" and "JC25"), you can read - and Google Translate - their experiments at:

In a nutshell: it didn't work, the re-glueing did not last. The problem is that the mast insert goes inside a hole in the board, making clamping the parts together for re-glueing quite tricky.

The solutions seem to either buy a new board (what the guys did), or (untested, but suggested by "Fred" of the Gong staff, as it is the system used on Gong boards so that the skin is not pierced) to glue a patch to close the hole and then glue a mast insert that stays above the board skin, without the need to have a hole in it.

Hi Colas! Thanks a lot for your help. What I will do is try to glue it. The blown up part is less than 2 cm wide. If it does not work, I will patch the hole and get rid of the adaptor because I never use it with the windsurf mast (only a few times before but I prefer to use other boards when sailing). In my case, with little kids that you never know when will want to use something in the water, it is a good solution just to keep it rolled up in the trunk and inflate it just in case with an electrical pump. I've used to think "pumping it by hand is part of the sport" until the manual pump got clogged by sand and stuff. I totally eliminated the need to carry another board for the kids and mostly. stay over my van.

No, inflatables make a lot of sense. But as with many things, each time you add a "feature" you may be adding a reliability problem.

And if rigid boards can be easily repaired from most damage (except waterlogging), no such luck with inflatables, so there is a real difference in quality between brands depending on how seriously they understand the technology and how extensive their experience is, both in years of experience and thousands of boards sold.
