A very quick surf at the island off Sponge Bay....one of Gisborne's quality surf spots (had to go to work )
The swell was wrong direction for the bowl.......but lining up nicely for the outer island.
Dragged along a young visitor to Gisborne to keep any hungry fishes distracted

A bit toooooo big I suspect. The cliff at the end of Kaiti Beach is always a possibility if wind is north or northeast.
A wonderful wave there when a swell manages to hit the spot
