Hi all

I foolishly left the booking of international flights with my better half. She decided we would try Qantas for the first time.

Having just read their board policy, I'm worried I'll have a problem taking my own equipment (9'4"x32") I'm use to a 3m limit (9'7"), Qantas state 9' (2.7m).

Has anyone got any experience of Qantas check in. How stricked are they. How much were youcharge for oversize etc.

Have taken boards to bali and Hawaii recently with Qantas, check in staff only weighed boards didn't question length. Flight included a domestic leg Melbourne to Sydney.

Just flew Qantas to Bali with a Sup.... under 9' with the bag but no one seemed interested in the length anyway. Just weighed it and straight on the belt. No drama. No damage either which was awesome!

Did Sydney direct and then Melbourne /Syd on the way back. No problem at the domestic either......

They won't be too concerned about length but will hammer you on weight.

Purchase more weight and baggage than you need online before you get to the airport, it is way cheaper than at the check in desk.
