I think it will end up as a one day event.

The club day will be on the Sunday if this is the case. We were going to have a social surf and might throw in a friendly BOP style race challenge. All welcome. Will post detail latter.

Go the Sunny Coast entrants.

Just had word from Surfing Qld.

It is looking definitely at being a one day event. This will be the Saturday. The location on the Sunshine Cost will be dependent on swell though may be held at Alex Headlands if there is a bit of swell.

Entry numbers are not full at the moment so if you are keen to enter please go to the following link:

http://www.surfingqueensland.com/event.php?id=125

Location: Sunshine Coast, QLD
Event Date: Saturday, 9-Jul-2011
Entry Closing Date: Thursday, 7-Jul-2011
Condition: Must be a Surfing Queensland member
Divisions: Multiple division entry is permitted.
Open women, Open men, Over 40 men
Cost: $65.00 (inc. GST) per division
The 2011 Queensland SUP Titles will this year see competitors do battle for selection in the State SUP team set to compete at the Australian SUP Titles in August.
As per the 2011 Surfing Australia Rule Book, allocations for the 2011 Australian SUP Titles are as follows:
Open Men - Four
Open Women - Two
O/40 Men - Zero (Non state qualification division)
The 2011 Queensland SUP Titles will focus exclusively on the surfing component of Stand-Up-Paddleboarding

I like PT's suggestion. Would be a better wave than the Bluff. Will wait and see.

Ok .. We are going to have a friendly BOP style race on the Sunday after the State Titles. If you are staying for the weekend you are most welcome to join in.

Three divisions for each gender.
1. Surf Board Class
2. 12'6 Class
3. Open Class

After the race we will have a social surf etc etc.
Non club members will need to pay $10 for day membership to cover insurance needs or they can join for the year.
Full details will be posted on the weekend.

I see a problem here if the NSW state titles had an over 35 class and QLD has a over 40 age group what is the national level Over 37.5 years

Geez everyone must know its flat , only three heats for qld titles , whats going on? I only entered cause i was up here anyway and thought i might just have a surf , and not quite old enough for the 40 +. We had more competitors for the local SUPSA comp. Is it the $65 entry fee and the mandatory membership to surfing Aus? Or something else?

He surfed very well.
1st. Keahi
2nd. Jackson
3rd. Justin
4th Geoff

The over 40's and womens final was also a great watch. I am not sure of all the names in these finals so I will leave it to someone else to post so I don't offend.

Roachie from our club did come first with PT in fourth.
