Any input on Mexico for a mug supper?

I'm going to a conference in Boston and am thinking of spending ten days in Punta de Mita (at the Hotel Cinco, to be precise) on the way back. I've seen lots of photos of little peeling waves - just what I'm after -but Google Maps has pictures of water-ski glass water. I'm wondering if nice small surf is normal or a rarity.

I've been there many times, first try to change your hotel to the "Paladium" all inclusive. It's off season untill November so the rate will be good. Right out front is the best and most consistent break in the area.

You don't need a car, they provide transfer to and from the airport. If you have to stay in Punta de Mita you might get waves at Ancolte if the swell is pumping. It will be half the size of Burros (in front of the paladium). You can hire a boat to take you to the cove around the tip of Mita, it's a fun wave but can blow out early.

Back to Burros, Burrows faces south-southeast, the typical afternoon onshore winds around the mainland are side-off shore winds here. Often the best waves are in the afternoon. The main problem is staying sober while lounging in the pool watching the surf!

You can rent Starboard SUP's from the Mexican Distributor, he'll deliver to the hotel.
