Well, the Synoptic chart for Sunday is looking very weird to say the least, but the forecast for the arvo is about as good as we could wish for !! 20-25 kn Southerly with a 2.5 m swell. We'll do the usual start time of 1600 in the water at Port Beach.
So meet at Swannie at 1520 to do the car pool thing, or be at the South end of the Port Beach carpark by 1545 to get organised.
I'll have a spare 12'6" DW board if anyone needs one.
Leashes are a must, and PFDs and flares are highly recommended but at paddlers' own discretion.
At the end of the paddle this week, please put your board on the lawn to the North of the carpark.

Nah Cam, as much as I would like to - have committments on the Sunday morning in Perth. Good luck to all of you, could be some interesting conditions .

Heading South as you know Lach so will regretably miss 2 weeks in a row.

Hi Chickenstix, Keen to join in again this Sunday but keeping up with the crew is obviously a problem for this SUPPER. Any options? I"m thinking I don't paddle to the Port groyne and/or hop out at Duch like Ann did last week? Just not cluey about the transport system so not sure what options are really there and how it would work. Very content to use my 10.6 board too.

Also, looks like there might be some other smaller ocean training sessions around so if these Sunday DW are best kept to the 8km that's cool. I'll work at building up my skill and fitness and join in again when better up to it. Not an issue.

Classic Kylie just saw you on TV!!!! you could start at Dutchies and finish with us and get a lift back to your car, you won't miss out on refreshments at the finish that way?

Hey Kylie, good idea about dropping the paddle up to the groyne, and depending on how you feel, you could pull out at Dutchies, or keep going to Swannie. If your car is at Dutchies and you go thru to Swannie, we can drop you back on the way home. Maybe text Sal and we can fine tune on the day.

Maybe I can act as a bit of a 'rabbit' (albeit slow!) for you all then ... like the greyhounds. Lach, if that 12.6 hasn't been taken, I'm keen. ps. Mocka - I seriously can't believe you even recognised me on the TV given you've only seen my twice and in all the surf gear. You are an observant fella!

Great run today 15 starters 4 newbys all paddled well doc Pete paddled in first from back good time 39 minuets think Sally took out the girls with rest all close by with testing shore break .
The stagged start worked well with most finishing at same time ,thanks loch for boards and galvo for board for cross fit Jac first DW and smashed it out look out girls ,
Long weekend next week so of hunting waves

An excellent if not full on ( for me ) intro to the port to Swannie down winder.

What a great run !! 18-23 kn from the S/SW with a reasonable swell to boot.
Once again we had some first timers join the crew, and everyone did really well. Good to see China, Jackie, Kiwibro and Mark T have a go - sounds like they will all be back !!
Jenkz was land based after his recent brush with the doc's knife, and it was great to see him out and about -can't wait to see those photo's of the dice with the Swannie shorebreak Jenkz !
Stimo did his best to turn his brand new ( first run !!) DC14 into the Swannie Pylon, but both came thru unscathed - except for a little dent in the pride maybe.
Amazing to see how fast some paddlers are improving. A few weeks ago paddlers that were struggling are now flying down the course.
Once again Stimo provided the beers ( you are a very generous fella Stimo, I don't believe what Rog says for a minute ).

Thanks guys for a great afternoon, was perfect for my first SUP downwinder... I'm hooked and hopefully next time I'll have bit more of a graceful exit from the break at Swannie.

Thanks Loch for organising us at the start, Stimo for letting me use the board (and his paddle) and Sal for the pointers along the way. I can't wait to do it again in (hopefully) a few weeks. Have a great long weekend everyone...

First downwinder yesterday and will definitely be back for more. Great to have a paddle with a supa crew of guys and gals with the same interest in SUP.

Thanks heaps everyone for a great paddle this week. Really didn't gel the first two weeks but with a head start, a bit more swell and the right wind this week I had a ball. Now I"ve just got to get me a dw board so the ever patient Lach and Sally don't have to cater for this ditzy blonde anymore! Thanks you two. I'm going to get my brother-in-law down soon too!
