I have owned 3 starboard carbon paddles over the last 10 months and all three have snapped half way down the shaft. Can any one recommend a brand that will not break in what I call normal surf conditions of 1 - 6 ft.

Have had a Kialoa Methane for 3 years and flogged it to death for 2 of those years (out for 1 with a back injury) still good as new.

Disc: Kristi my daughter is sponsored by Kialoa.

I've also heard of (and seen) some Starboard paddles break but I have also heard that they've changed them and now they are much better.

IMO.. Kialoa, Werner and Quick Blades seem to be the better paddles these days.. I've also got my original Methane that's a few years old now.

Quickblade is the only brand I have not snapped in the same spot out of 5 brands I have owned in 4 yrs sup. Yes just touched wood. They all break but qb are reliable and available in a few shops over here.
