it was the only spot, not closing out on that stretch of beach.

We all had a great time down there!! nice fun event that had something to do all day!

I had a ball getting smashed in the shore break all day and having the Inflatable races was good fun as well.

That was the three heats of round one of the Elite Men's division. My battery ran out after that. Sorry.

Most fun SUP racing day i have been too.
Didn't feel like racing alot of the time - just a personal challenge to make it around the course. Although the Elite Final was hectic with those flashy QLD'ers in town.
Apart from the deserved plaudits for the organisers, Mike MT did a great job as race starter. And very smart to keep the race starters to around 10 - it was dangerous enough as it was.
The NISCOs are here to stay - especially if it is big

My read of it was that the organisers were forced to run the race into the south end where the surfers were, purely due to the conditions.
It was not an option to go further north as the waves were just way too big!
As it was the 'sweep' north was sucking those unlucky enough not to punch out quickly (aka moi!) straight into a constant onslaught of serious body bashers.
In solid E/SE swells like this only a few places are really surfable. To ask the surfers to move would not have gone down well. From what I saw everyone played together very nicely. I think the lenses also make the surfers look closer than they actually were.
Challenging conditions to run an event and cred to the organisers and Collaroy SLSC for making it safe for all!

I would also rate this as one of the best race Vids I have seen on SB.

The most amazing surf vid I've seen, ever!

The waves are sucky, knarly, & dredging, the action is full time, going out as well as coming in.

The only surfers doing anything were on SUPs - all the others were just getting washed around.

Congrats to all involved, fantastic demo of skills & fitness!

Great video Casso , has to be the best race video I've watched. I hope everyone appreciates how much work goes into producing something like this.

Apparently research shows that when a video is more than 3 minutes long people who weren't involved in it stop watching, but I've just watched this for a 3rd time and its 12 minutes! Goes to show how good a quality not only of the racers but the editing and filming is.

Just checked my Go Pro footage. Go Pro was knocked heavily on the first wipe out so the angle was all wrong. Only just enough footage to add to the DSLR and vid footage. Bummed!!

Geez, Casso. You're vid was that good I don't think I dare put one up now.
