Does anyone get numb toes when paddling longer distances. I am wearing booties because it's cold. My feet don't get cold though. Maybe the booties are restricting circulation.

I had a similar problem because I was not moving my feet, rock back and forward from toe to heel and move around a little and it should reduce the problem as long as your booties are not squashing your toes?

Actually tried bigger booties and still had the problem. Yes wiggling toes or moving helps but still happens. I am probably just getting old.
Another thing. I bought a camel back style backpack. Have you ever tried drinking when you are knackered and keep paddling. It's not that bloody easy!

Yes I have one of them to and am also getting old, lol. Taking deep breaths after pushing against a head wind while trying to get water into you can be a challenge!!

You will get pain in the soles of your feet from trying too hard to balance and grip the board.
When I first started paddling I reckon it took me close on a year to not getting it.
Booties on a SUP I think don't work unless you get wet a lot, like when you surf.
Flat water paddling, you get the bootie wet as you get on, then stand it in the air, so you evap cool your feet as you paddle.
Even when it is cold, the wet bootie in the air makes your feet even colder, and hence toes go numb.
Two years ago I ditched the booties, and paddle all the way through Melbourne winter barefoot, with no problem apart from your feet hurt when you first go in.
But several of my friends will attest that I am quite strange......

Too funny!

But really that's it. When I first started I was getting a cramped foot numb toe deal and realized I was trying to grip the board with my feet as I struggled to balance.
Now I try to consciously weight my heels a bit to relaxe the bottom of the foot when it can.
And move around the board with a relaxed foot. Helps the balance too.
