Whilst some may think this is unfortunate there are a lot of locals who aren't fazed.

What started as a Surfing Contest and fellowship of surfers and surfing, turned into a bums in beds and bums on seats at restaurants fiasco.

The original event, organised and run by passionate and ardent Noosa Malibu Club members had lost its way. in recent years the accent was not on surfing and fellowship of surfers, it was just another event to promote the Noosa area, together with the Noosa Food and Wine Festival and others.

Whilst business may suffer a decrease in income for the period, local surfers will rejoice in the handing back of the points to the local community.

Lets face it,Noosa is a beautiful wave when its on, however it rarely breaks and running a surf comp with waves there is asking a lot.
Like all things ET small things grow into a beast,I understand you comments.

They basically burnt the Sup component which was a huge source of income with little infrastructure.

Old heads stuck in the sand could not see what 3 days of sup brought to the contest. You win some and lose some.
