Saturday the 13th October NSPC held our club comp day, we had clean 2-3ft off shore winds and a nice little bank to ourselves,

for the surfing we joined everyone together cause there wasn't a huge turn out and the results were:

equal 1st Dylan Henry (C4) and Shane Ross (Laird)
2nd Dave Stretton (Naish)
3rd Chris Henry (C4)

it was good to see the newbies turn up and have a crack we had people who have never been in the surf on a SUP and they went out there and competed!

next time please try and make it!

Oh yeah, I won the BOP race by default as well. One quick lap out to the boat on a big demo C4 race board with the southerly behind me to the beach! Given the fun conditions it of a pity no one else was keen.

Hey, thanks Guys & Girls for a top day out (and the beer)! Thanks too for Stocko for throwing up some really nice contestable waves. Hopefully the next comp will score as well!

looked like really fun waves, well done to organisers and those competing. No better way to improve your free surfing imo.

Ha ha, no way I have a short enough board to compete with your likes! Maybe next windfall I will buy myself one?

Anyway, it was cool to cruise into equal first on my dinosaur on such a perfect day! Good one Stocko. Every time the tugs come in with another coal boat rocking my yacht at anchor it reminds me my relos who were merchant seamen originated from over there.

Great pics. Thanks for posting... Looks like a lot of fun.
I'm curious about the blue board with the full deck grip - looks like a fun width and nice and quick (not too much rocker). Is that a Jimmy Lewis?
Cheers, Dave

No problems, I was just having a laugh. Seriously though, I am going to have to get myself a short SUP for bigger comps. Hey, I see the Sunshine Coast comp has an over ten feet surf division. It would be nice too to have an over ten feet board that is a consistent nose rider.

Oh, it was good to see Dylan's dad Chris getting third on Saturday. Back in the day he was my PE teacher. He taught me how to use a paddle in Canadian kayaks on the Hunter River. It's great to see him still ripping!

Guessing too you would have scored good waves Sunday. If I was in Sydney I would have dropped around.

Thanks Dylan. He does a great paddle-above-the-head soulman stance too. Your pics really capture the fun vibe of the line up that day. Nicely done.
