Thanks guys. Does anyone have a preference regarding construction? Weight is not an issue, living in a garage is and also surviving on board racks as well as the occasional accident. Longevity and distance travelled are the main priorities. Appreciate your thoughts.does starboard do board bags? I will chase up Echuca outriggers as well.
If you are not phased by an extra couple of kg's but you are concerned about damage from accidents, then the AST construction is definitely more robust than carbon and will save you up to $1,000. Starboard do have a well padded board bag for 14' boards. They are fairly heavy and if added to the weight of an AST board, you'd want a strong back.
