Some of this unique to individual, perhaps cause of technique/foot placement. I swap boards with friends, we have different impressions over which ones are more stable
Wide tail, wide nose makes a bigger difference than absolute width (if talking 1" difference in width). Rocker also plays a part as does rail shape and how it's finned.
