Just so you know if your coming to Hawaii this July for all the Downwind Paddle Races.

Unfortunately the date have been changed for the M4M race.

I've just got of the phone with Clare Seeger Mawae here is what she said.

OK folks here we go...New dates...DATES HAD TO BE CHANGED TO SAT 23RD JULY AND SUNDAY 24TH JULY....,,,,,and a RELAY FORMAT making this a super fun weekend on Molokai and perfect relax/stretch out time before the M2O..

Yes Handsome Bugga is doing the M2O on the 16th weekend and we are doing the following weekend with a relay format and our m4molokai race We are not focusing on solo but relay but solo paddlers can still choose to paddle It's no different to the oc 1 canoe races. So there are two maui 2 Molokai events. Ours will be a fun weekend of racing

So the 16/17 M2M is handsome buggas solo one like last year and the 23/24 is Relay M2M and M4M sounds good Clare Seeger Mawae

Yes we will and we have some good parties lined up with some great Molokai hospitality.

Does everyone concur there has been some bad politics go down in the Aloha State "I know the story but I no nothing as Sargent Schultz would say, SAD"

I'll be doing the M2O race on the 16th but am hanging at Clare's place on the Saturday night "Party Time" then do a Kamalo Buoy Molokai Run 13km on the Sunday Party Again Sunday night on Molokai at Clare's place then go back to Maui Monday morning, like last year.

If any Aussies want to stay at Clare's place just let me know, ask Kieran O' Riordan how good it is staying at Clare's place.

This is correct inorbit A few of us have changed our accommodation date to 23/24 at no charge.

But roamer has it the Maliko race now could be on Sunday 24/7 if it is it's a good chance it will be boycotted.

Be interesting to see what happens? hopefully the Maliko race will be run on the 10/7

Aloha everyone, M2M World Cup Championship is on for July 16th 2016. Please hold on to this date. Yes, we are back on track to running this event two weeks before M2O, you now have two weeks out to rest and to do a short run the M2K July 23, 2016 one week before M2O Race.
We do have Relay 2 & 3 Team & Mixed SUP Race for M2M Race.

But the M2K on the 23rd is a bad date due to the M2M & M4M on the 23/24

You can’t change the M2K to the 10th July so all us Australians can do the race all the Australians have booked accommodation for the 23/24 on Molokai

I'm reading 2 x M2M. How good is that. Gotta think at least one of them is going to be EPIC

Basically what is happening is:

July 16th is the M2M(Maui 2 Molokai - organised by Rodney Kilbourn)as we have known it for the last few years. Usual set up, you can go solo or do teams.

July 23rd is the M2K,(Maliko 2 Kahului) or what used to be called the Naish race. A race from Maliko Gulch down into Kahului to the canoe Hale on Maui.

Also on July 23rd is the Molokai Paddling Association Maui to Molokai race which will be more teams/relay orientated. (Full details to follow)
On July 24th is the M4M which is the local Molokai Paddle Association race from Kamilo buoy to Hotel Molokai(actually the most fun stretch of the Maui 2 Molokai race course imo)

On July 31st is the M2O(Molokai 2 Oahu).

It would be nice to support the local Molokai races as they are fantastic friendly people. The night we had at hotel Molokai after last years M2M & M4M was brilliant. My eyeballs are still stinging after seeing Downwinders dance moves. :)

July is the prime month and is the month to go and do racing in HI and now people will have to choose which event they are going to miss out on.......pity if this is down to politics......would do them great favours if they'd actually disclose why M2K and M2O relay absolutely has to run on the same weekend. Information kills speculation.

The races that clash are the M2K - Maliko 2 Kahului(basically a Maliko run) and the Maui 2 Molokai race organised by Claire and the Molokai Paddle crew. The M4M is then on the 24th.
The M2O is the following weekend on the 31st.
