If it is a family holiday - north male atolls easiest - Honduranfush,Pasta Point or bit further away is Kandooma -- these places are covered by travel companies such as "perfect wave" "world safaris" "surf travel co" Their are a large fleet of boats coverind 3 diff areas North Middle and South Atolls also a couple of exotic travel companies let you partially tailor your trip. Might get some reccomendations on boats from breezers, I stayed at Lohis years ago and it was brilliant, but it has been upgraded and up priced and renamed Honduranfushi - it runs boats every day to Cokes RH and Chickens LH ( used to be same trip as these breaks are adjascent, Also to Sultans RH and Honkeys LH ( used to be same trip as breaks are adjascent) Also a trip to Jails RH June July and August usually gets the biggest swell cosistantly

Thanks Mate. Doin the 30th with the misses. Have heard good thing's about wave packages to Kandooma, so think we'll look into that option.
Cheers

Are you going solo or with a family? I have been on a couple of boat trips (Carpe Diem and Carpe Vita) and plan to go on one with www.moontours.com.au in May. I personally like the boat trips as they can chase the swell and you get more variety. There are also opportunities for snorkeling and scuba diving - but that depends on the boat. I know a guy who went to Kandooma and enjoyed it. It has an exclusive right out the front, and there are other breaks nearby they will take you too (quarters, rip-tides, and others).

If you go north from Male you can get bigger waves but generally more crowded waves. If you go south, which I have done, you are supposed to get smaller waves but less crowds. As always, the size of the waves is out of your hands - I had one trip with pretty good size waves and another with smaller but still fun waves.

The time of year is the other deciding factor. The waves are bigger May-August (from memory) but the weather is less family friendly - more wind and storm sqalls - although some I have spoken to traveled in that period and had perfect weather. I went in April this year (2017) and had great weather.

I hope all that helps!
