Today I mounted my home made GoPro mount on the other side of my board for a change to see what the view is like from there.

We got a gusty 20-30 knots with a lot of off shore (NE) in the wind direction so that meant mostly right side paddling.. Left side paddle dragging.. and surfing the runners mostly to the left.

Cam is loving the new shape 14' DC and even though this was only his first DW'er on it he is already matching his best times that he had done on his 14' Ace.. Plus he's having a lot more fun being able to move around on the board more and surf it rather than being locked into that parralel stance that the Ace forces you into.. I'll get Cam to coment himself.

you need to buy one of those gopro remote control helicopter thingos DJ, then you can film, paddle and play with the remote control at the same time. Go on, you know you need another toy....

Hay Cathy.. You and Anne did very well.. There was a lot of off-shore direction in the wind and when Cam did his second run it had turned even more off-shore so lucky you did the earier run.. As you know it's a lot harded than it looks and not something that will learn over night but things do start to click after a while and that comes mostly from time on the water.. and lots of falls..

Yeah.. .. One day we might be able to program a drone to hover above, in front.. and behind filming.. Wouldn't that be nice..

For now I just need to work out how to get my GoPro WiFi controller working..

Hi CMC, as you can see from DJ's comments after the first 10km run on the DC14 he got me buzzing like a kid in a candy store and had to put up with me on the drive back to the collect the car from the start location, which turned into further car shuffles so I could do a second run (so not much work got done yesterdaymade up for it today) ,and as he says all going good.
The downwinders here are to unpredictable to weather forecast for any competition races so its all about having the most fun when they happen once every couple of weeks on average so after a recent trip to Maui spending time on the 17"4' SIC Bullet surfing ocean swells wanted to get that feeling back here and I know our bay run doesn't compare near as good as that this board will provide for as close as possible, going by the gps speed data I got yesterday was very similar to what I usually get and the next thing will be a bay crossing for some steeper, bigger swells, can't wait,
cheers.

Great video David, looking forward to getting some talent and being able to do that myself. One thing I can give you a pointer on is the GoPro WiFi after struggling for a day to get mine working. Answer is to follow the steps in the little black instruction book EXACTLY. The video on their site is missing one crucial tiny step (don't remember which one) but it had me stumped for ages until I finally had to resort to the instruction book.

My video's a bit different..... I think I got wetter than you at this event..
Hopefully be able to post some SUP vids at some stage!

Yep.......pretty much, the higher resolution shots are with GoPro and the more ****ty looking stuff is using the onboard video and data recording stuff.

The GoPro's are great, currently running 3 of them with the WiFi backpacks....think I'll end up with about 6 or 7 and replace the current onboard stuff.

The GoPro's rock......but editing several is just a bit harder....

And an excuse to get another gadget....if you need an excuse. Check out the new GoPro 3.....insane quality! It does 120fps at 720p which will make for awesome slowmo shots.
