Anyone ever had any issues with leaving board on roof racks in the bag for an extended amount of time?

Thinking of just keeping board on roof rack during the work week to make the most of a paddle when I can, it gets pretty hot over here in the west this time of year.

Any one had any boards suffer?

Generally, good boards are pretty tough, and you can be overly cautious in babying them - however, you paid a fistful of dollars for your beloved board, why not take the time and effort to look after it. Bags protect it for transit between storage and the water - not to be left sealed up at other times. Ive not had anything happen to the many boards Ive owned and used - but never left them as you suggest, to find out. Heard plenty of tales of warning about what happens when a board gets hot and/or is sealed in a moist environment. As you have said... it gets pretty "warm" in WA..... so my advise would be "Dont do it!"

Two solutions.
1. You have the board out of the bag with the bag strapped to the top of the board. That way the board is never in direct sunlight and us insulated from the heat above. Same as just leaving your board under the shade of a tree on a very hot day. No worries.
2. Buy a length of aluminium sided wall insulation and strap that to the top of your board, same effect.

For what it's worth I live in Kununurra where it is always 35-40 degrees every day.
I have my SUP hanging under my carport not in a bag. So board is in the shade but always in extreme heat. No issues in 2yrs.
