Was there anything wrong with the old system? The new system seems pretty dodgy.....its vague and confusing.
With the old system you could make a comment and cut and paste a vid on the the one post.
Seems no longer possible. Don't like where you can't see previous comments on the topic you are looking at.
Maybe a failed experiment?

All works well for me.
Need to avoid the afraid of change attitude.

In what way

The old forums was written in the late 90's, and we've tried to keep it going as long as possible, but the tech was getting so old it needed a complete rewrite.

Yes, it's going to have a few teething issues. We ran 5 weeks of testing, and there was no mention of the bugs you guys are finding, and for those that are experiencing, it does seem to be isolated cases.

To give you an idea of the testing:

We tested on :
- iPad 1, 2, mini, Pro, Samsungs, HTC, Mac (Pro, Air, etc), Windows machines
- Different versions of operating systems (Vista, Win8, Win10, Lollipop, Froyo etc)
- Many brands of browser (Safari, IE, Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Opera etc)

Literally thousands of tests.

If you're experiencing issues, then if we can reproduce the fault, it's easy to fix..

Most problems are caused by plugins such as privacy plugins, ad-blockers,pop-up blockers etc, as these fiddle with the page we're delivering, and can get incorrectly remove elements of the page thinking that they're adverts or something else.

If you're having a challenge, either post specifics, or email me specifics, and like all the other challenges reported so far, they'll be sorted out.

It literally is a case of if we all work together, we can make it work for the most crew.

If you are experiencing an issue, try (temporarily) turning of any browser plugs-ins and see if it works. If that's the problem, then let us know which plug-in, and we can download/install and try it out.

I liked the OLD system better because I am an OLD FART that doesn't want to learn the new system.

Hey Laurie, I actually do like the new Forums mostly because my response to Lost Paddle has been at the Top for days. I am now famous.

It is probably because you are subscribed to it. It isn't at the top for me. You will see a star to the left. If you click it you unsubscribe. It is handy because it keeps the threads that you are most interested in at the top, but if you look at the right hand side you'll how many days have passed since there was a post to that thread.

Interesting , did you load it from an iPad? Keep in mind when the upgrade happened there were no problems doing it it only started a couple of weeks into the upgrade being live!

As an example I can cut and paste the video to this part of the forum?

I can't post from my iphone any more. Always used to be able to, and I've not changed anything about my browser settings.

I do have a question Laurie. Can you still see how many views a post has had? Maybe I'm blind but I can't see that anywhere.

If you click the button that says Compact it changes to Detailed and you can see the number of views and more.

yes you can post a link.......but can you post a link plus a comment in the same post.......you used to be able to do do that in the "good old days"

This is a really wierd bug that only affects a couple of you ..

If anybody else is suffering from this bug, please send me a private message (because obviously you can't post!). Also try clearing your cookies for seabreeze, and login again. If that works, please do let me know.

I have logged out so will give it a try.
Nope still can't attach a video, I think this is restricted to mobile devices Laurie no one else says they use a phone or iPad.

okay Laurie......will try to clear the cobwebs out of my cupboards.
I for one can post.....but can't make a post that includes a video link

can do vid link......but not comment plus video link in same post. Have to make two separate posts.......one for comment.....and one for video link
