I got access to a 3d printer and love making up new inventions. Anyone got any problems I could potentially solve for sup's? I have one or two of my own but wondering what other desires could be catered for.

List your problems here if you feel the need.

Yep great.
I need a 10'6 x 30ish long board about 140-150 litres that'll be stable but loose and fast and catch everything from soft knee high beachies to stormy overhead rollers.
Just PM when ready.
Cheers!

Not sure where I saw it mentioned, but someone was saying how hard it is to find fcs plug kits to mount a go pro on the front of a Jimmy Lewis board. If you could make some of those up a few people might be interested.

I'm a fan of the liftsup of the sunova's.
on contrary, my ex jl super tech had such a big handle, it used to bother me.
some withdraw able device to minimise this nuisance would be nice.

I think there is an opportunity to design a tail handle for SUP that would be both safe (no risk of crushing fingers) and not add drag.

how about designing a " plug" for the carry handle box? I always thought that having a way to plug it while out and then unplug it would be nice.

If the tiny details in fin design make a difference, like the wings on quobbas, then surely does an empty fin box.

How about fin box blanks?

Actually, it does not make a lot of difference.

I always filled my boxes for decades (windsurfing then SUPing), it is easy, just cut strips of foam a bit larger than the boxes, they stay put by locking in the inside rail (US Box) or with the screws (FCS). But it was because I am a bit anal on all things fin related. You also can buy boxstix plugs: www.woodstockshop.com/fr/204_finbox-solutions

... but I never could feel a significant difference on the water. I guess it is because the boxes are filled with still water that act as a filler.

Quobba on the other hand, you can feel the difference, because their shape induce a hull vortex with a large effect. Kind of a butterfly effect if you want.

I do... for the things I know how to do, and when there is not a better commercial alternative. And I post my howtos on the forums.

For instance, I made a surfboard and a sailboard. Once. Since then, I have the utmost respect for board builders :-)
