Close to Kingscliff just up the road ,head to Snapper Rocks locals very friendly,you may need a change in wind direction it dislikes these northerlies.

there are plenty of good banks along that stretch of coast southwards. forget the points (kingy, caba, hastings) on a long weekend; the crowds will be nuts.

pottsville to wooyung is always quiet (except for black rocks) so i suggest driving the coast road south of pottsville and checking out the beach breaks along that stretch. the road runs parallel to the beach. be aware of rips and sweep...

Ok take two on a serious note.

We have had northerlies week in week out for way too long. So any straight beach should produce a nice wave for you right where you are heading,good luck and enjoy. Now Snapper is just full of coffee drinking longboarders often seen in groups under shade talking smack about the good old days.

Local - noun. In these parts on a long weekend if you've pulled up and are lucky enough to have claimed a car park, you own that real estate. Your are now an honorary local. Paddle out and enjoy.
And as Macaha says, at the moment and for the last couple of months any thing under 10 Knots we call northerly glass.
