My kids have the adjustable Fanatic one. It's a nice paddle but being plastic its heavier than an adult size carbon paddle.

We use an adjustable naish makani. Works well for the kids and the missus.

Agreed.

I have 2 Naish Alana adjustable paddles for my girls. Nice flowery graphics, small blade.
Bought the wif a wood grain Fanatic paddle, which she loves. It's very light, and the blade is quite flexy, so it doesn't load up her shoulders too much.

Overall tip though - don't skimp on paddles. If the paddles are too heavy or just a crap paddle, you may not keep the family's interest.

My 6-year old daughter has the same Naish kids paddle and she has no problem with it.

This is Starboard's offering. Very sturdy blade and a choice of adjustable or fixed length shaft.

Some aluminium paddles can be quite heavy.

I bought this for my daughter today. Helmy's comments are on the money. A paddle that is not fit for them by being too big or heavy just puts them off.

Naish Keiki 7" - small blade and relatively light. Adjustable and pretty cheap at $180.00

Daughter loves it!
