Kai Lenny gave a demonstration of his skill in tiny marginal conditions at Bells yesterday. Followed up with a question and answer session at Surfworld museum.
Thanks to Kai for taking time out to visit our part of the world.
Inspirational.

Thats a mighty small board, anyone know what size/volume ? Looks like it would be not much more than 110L. He makes even the small waves look exciting.

If it's the same board he was riding on the Sunshine Coast, it is the 7'4, and he said somewhere around 85L.

Great vid Pete, did you get a chance to have a chat with him? He definitely makes the most of those small waves, but it would've been great to see him rip when Bells is pumping.

I love(& hate) how he does that cool run & casually jump on his board on the way out. I've stood on the shore many times contemplating trying it, but never end up attempting for fear of falling flat on my face or back in a tangled mess.... Haha

Thanks Scott. No did not speak with him. Pity about the surf, but to see him ride 6 inch weak waves in 6 inches of water was pretty amazing too.

He didn't like to fall off and would do anything he could to stay standing which was also impressive.

Crikeys my favourite surfboard (mini mal) is longer than that, but I've probably got a foot in height and about 40 kilos on Kai. ;-)

He sure can throw it around, nice surfing in the small stuff

Kai shreds in any conditions,

6 inch Bells even!

Last week 12-15 foot hookipa at the AWT Makani windsurfing comp
The week before that (as well as taking out the BOP and SUP world titles) he was charging 20 foot jaws!

Legend, hope to catch up with his in Adelaide this weekend
