They are based in NSW and you order direct I think. Not in WA.

Does JL have a presence in Hawaii on Oahu? I've done some quick googling and can't find anything conclusive.

Bob I have a 10ft destroyer you can try ,I'm in Lennox .

Thanks justaddwater, I was thinking about the 8'5 or 8'8 & without being able to demo either I'm a bit reluctant to just pull the trigger as I might find I do not even like the style of board. ( Although looks great! ).
That's why the question about Hawaii, if I could rent one for a day or two that would be a fair crack at a demo as I thought JL was an Hawaiian brand?

Blue Planet...no JL.... was just there
lots of great gear though, real SUP frothers shop that one, demo anyway
