funny how the people running events have vested interests. surfing aus is a non-profit gig?
It's an interesting point you make - certainly Surfing Aus is a not for profit association and I doubtthey make any money from the national titles but presumably they are required to report their financial position relating to each event they stage in their annual reporting at an AGM. Anyone know?
Also, until we know who SUPA really are, we can't compare vested interests. Maybe they have vested interests, maybe they don't. Who knows?
It is fascinating in a sense relating to the whole pimping issue that gets raised regularly, and the mooted suggestion on that score that people should disclose their affiliation to brands and stores.
Likewise, perhaps if anyone comes on the 'breeze and pumps up the tyres of either Surfing Australia or SUPA, or even if they ask a faux naif Dorothy Dix question despite being close personal friends etc, then they should disclose their relationship to that association.
