Just incase you missed it we ran the sup state world titles last weekend. It was located at a secret spot. CCC dominated the heats and took out the finals by default. He came off his board and killed the only other competitor due to a lack of leg rope. He then went on to win the Aus BOP race, which was 150 laps of the Wet and Wild wave pool.

I'd like to see someone organise an event and call it: "NOT the QLD state titles". I reckon there's a nice point of difference.

We need another entity to start up , you need at least three competing organizations. Which one is going to come out on top? Ill put my money on SUPA.!

I don't think it should be limited to 3 but regardless, the title holder of any state championship should be given a great big gold belt.

Does JM stand for Jamie Mitchell?

Edit> Well after a bit of searching JM does indeed stand for Jamie Mitchell. Another interesting info found was that Woogie Marsh is head judge.

2 big names>Maybe SUPA is the real deal?

And good on JM, is he the only local brand to ever sponsor a big time event?

What is great about SUPA is that they have contacted SUP Paddlers - After hearing about heats and finals with poor judging by Long board & Short board judges these guys have stepped up to make the sport grow. Paddlers are turned off from a bad experience and don't come back to compete. Lets hope that SUPA can provide a good atmosphere at the comps.

In the States & Hawaii every 2nd race is a World Championship. This is a new Association so it is running its own State & Australian Title.

Don't like it don't show up!!!! pretty simple.

Yeah, those Americans like Kelly Slater and Laird Hamilton are all fake.
Should we just sit back and be run by Shortboard, Longboard or Canoe organizations or develop our own body to run our sport?

Check out your local SUP Club. If they are affiliated with ASI insurance (SUPA) is the body the club is aligned with. You don't have to pay double fees either. Join your local ASI affiliated SUP club and you are a member of SUPA.

Not like other associations where you pay your membership fees to your club then have to pay again to the Mother Association to enter an event.

If SUPA is organising the Queensland state titles does this mean they will also organise state titles in the other states. I like the Divisions and I particularly like the entry conditions (non member), excellent work

They have put it out to the clubs, so the SUP clubs organise the day. I know NSW will be having an event on the 22nd - 23rd October.

Check out there Calendar I am sure there will be one down Vicco way
