Hi all,
Bought a secondhand board and it's on the other side of the country, in lockdown.
Wonder if anybody has had any luck with couriers, or any recommendations in the current climate?

The board's near Coffs, and it wants to be in Darwin...

Cheers in advance.

Hi All

Serious lack of SUPs in New Zealand at the moment. Hoping to pick one up in Aus and get it shipped over.
Have sent off a message to the links mentioned above.

Anyone have any other recommendations? Flying to pick it up isnt an option at the moment and I doubt anyone would do it for me as it would take up a fair bit of space in their MIQ hotel room for 14 days :).

I ended up using pack & send. They picked it up from 30mins out of Coffs harbour and got it to the local pack & send here in darwin.

wrapped it pretty well in massive fat bubble wrap and black plastic with thick cardboard folded over the nose and tail. It arrived with a tear in the wrapping on the top deck but was also in a Balin board bag so was ok.

The price was fair enough, but might've been getting on the steep side if the board wasn't a good price to begin with (or had the added protection of the complimentary board bag, cheers again Mick!) Sub-1500 delivered for a good second hand board is doable I reckon.

I think there is always going to be an element of risk of damage though, unless you can get someone to do the full cardboard box job with a bag and good rail and end padding, but even then forklift tines will just go through (seen it happen with new board delivered).

Just gotta go for it and hope for the best.

Good luck!

Try Transdirect, they are brokers for a few companies.
