An 11'2'' x 32'' Naish Quest.. and it's my new faverite board..

If I had to choose one board only this would be it.. and it's the cheapest board in my quiver..

It's my new daily paddling board.. and I can't imagin going without it now..

I've heard it surfs great.. Better than the old 11'6" Nalu and that wasn't too bad..

Great video as usual DJ one of the crew up here has just gotten one, has an interesting bottom design hey!.... He just uses it to cruise around but wants me to take it in the surf to see how it goes, just waiting for the gale force onshore winds to buggar off!!

Wow there's alot going on under that board. Do you think having multiple channels V's is better than just a double concave with 1 V down the middle.
Have you tried the 9'8. Would be interested to know how much slower the 9'8 is.
I would like to make a board around 9'5-10' thats mainly a flatwater board but can still surf, smallish waves.
Great vid gives us who cant afford to buy or try lots of boards an idea of whats out there before buying. Thanks.

At 220 ltrs it's perfect for big blokes.. Naish say up to 115 kgs but I'm guessing it'll take much more..

Also perfect for loading up with gear for touring.. or paddling with kids on board..

I know both of these boards well.. I'd say the 9'8"x 34 is slightly more stable but the longer 11'2"x 32 paddles flat water slightly better (and is slightly faster) due to the added length..

The channels (apparently) reduce the rocking and help with tracking along with forcing air under the board.. It's very noticable and seems to work..

The 9'8" surfs quite well and I did a vid a while ago showing it in small waves..

Im considering getting another. Touring board .sometimes I can't be bothered carting the 14 down .
what advantages would this 11.2 quest have over the 12 FOOT .30 GTW GLIDE .
just looking for a good time muck around board .
tryed the 9.8 .too short .for paddling into wind .

Great video, I think you have me sold on the 11'2.
I'd best start ringing around the shops to see who has one, can you recommend a paddle that would be the best for this board ?

Well, partly due to this thread, partly due to Nozza's (and others) great pics in the "where did you paddle today" thread, and partly cos I wanted a cruiser that I could also catch little waves on, I grabbed a lovely used Naish Odysseus 11'2 today. Thanks fellas. Looks like a great way to paddle away from the holiday crowds.

Just a question/s for the brains trust... the board comes with the inset deck fittings that allow you to tie down stuff on the front of the deck. I assume there's some kind of hard-wearing elasticised cord/string that most people opt for -- any suggestions for what brand and where to get it? (Perhaps its just another Bunnings trip?...) Thanks...

Congrats.. Yes Bunnings should have it but I get mine from a local boating shop and they have a range of sizes and colours..

The 11'2" should windsurf very well.. It's a very similar shape to the 10'10" Nalu and it windsurfs great.. The four channels really do seem to help.. Here's a vid that I did a while ago.. I'll try a do one again soon windsurfing my 11'2" Quest.

(Yes, the Odysseus is a little plainer than the Quest.)

I was thinking the 12 foot quest but might consider the 11 foot one now.
Dad has the 10 foot odysseus and it paddles great.

How much is an initial windsurfing set up on the SUP as I would like to get back into it as the Nor Easter blows very regular here in the afternoon. Would my starboard avanti also take a universal windsurfing attatchment.

I've been windsurfing my 11'2" Quest and its awesome in light winds.

What kind of $'s are you talking for the 11'2" Quest DJ ?

Was the 11 foot Nalu the board you sailed in a vid a while ago?

I'd be keen on a SUP that windsurfs well, look forward to you taking it for a sail.
