Left my Ride The Tide Board. Upside down in the sun for an ONLY an hour and a huge air bubble has formed on the bottom.Has anyone else had this problem? It's a Woody original with a EPS foam core, only a month old.

Evens happens down here in cold Tassie, always be very careful about leaving boards in direct sunlight, if it's got a goretex vent not such of a worry, but if you can avoid it do.

I would say unsurprisingly. Not a Goretex fan..... they will clog with salt so need to be rinsed. Yearly replacement too as if the tiny frail membrane splits you take on water and won't know till its too late.
Some don't vent at all due to resiny fingers on the membrane
If it gets water inside from a ding, it won't vent due to moisture on both side of the membrane.
So don't trust Goretex....


In short, I'd definitely take it back for warranty as this is lack of laminate adhesion and/or or failed vent. And that is the one and only advantage of a Goretex vent - they can't claim if it was your fault if it popped due to heat, as their vent is supposed to stop air pressure damage in the sun :)

Thanks Mark. I found in the small print when I went looking that the warranty doesn't cover damage due to heat exposure. I will be interested in what the company I bought it from has to say. I agree the Gore-Tex valve must have failed as it was only in the sun for an hour. If these boards are prone to heat damage in such a short period of time you would think they would put a large warning sticker on the board. As they say you live and learn. ??

Warranty says extreme heat (in car maybe) or extended sunlight. If you can't leave an outdoor toy out for an hour something's wrong

"extreme heat" hmmmmm... note the OP's tag. Townsville sun on boards will highlight any, and tiniest flaws, in any board ( I was born there and lived there for 60 years). It is January at 19deg South at the moment!
You don't need the inside of a car. Though I did once measure the temperature in side my old man's GREY Statesman at 55degC...at 9 oclock in the morning...
