Just wondering, as my trusty iSUP gets ready for another season (albeit in a backup capacity now that I have a spiffy new board, heh heh) ...what's the best (read: the simplest) way to add a bit of reo to the rails, where slight signs of wear are starting to show?
Did somebody say clear Gorilla tape?

Ok, if you think it will help, here are some photos.

Now, please share some insights on how you would reinforce the rails of an inflatable board.

Cheers

My untested ideas: You want something that does not unglue when folding the board, so either:

- liquid latex, like what you cover tool handles with
- thin layers (apply with a business card) of glues that stay rubbery: MS Polymer, polyurethane... (e.g Gorilla Glue)

I have used thin layers of MS Polymer glues on rigid boards to create a kind of rail saver / nose guard. It works quite well, but it is not ideal to slide the board in a bag as the rubbery surface sticks to the bag. Never tried on inflatables.

I have clear gorilla tape, don't work to well in water. Comes off after two, paddles. Now that epoxy glue is okay as colas points out. I also am rocking too boards. Both inflatable. A tourer and an all round board and if your getting sag, I would recommend to upgrade to a tourer. Hand over the old board to a newbie as it's the pandemic and every Tom dick and harriette is looking to get out and about in a socially distant sort of way. people are down mentally so make someone happy.

Getting two different shapes is heaps better for balance practice.
