Anyone out there using hexatraction pads on the front of there sups? Thinking about getting some for protection and grip.

Are there any other similar products out there that may be more cost effective?

Yes.. and it's very good.. ..and many of my friends also use it.

There's nothing else out there that comes close imo.

Hexatraction is perfect for the nose of a SUP, I use only it now.

A similar product is Van der Wall. www.waal.co/ Cheaper, more packaging options (you can actually order the amount you want), and may be even grippier than hexatraction.

It may not be grippy enough for high level longboarders, though: a good wax job stills provides more grip. And I guess you can get sore feet if using it for the paddling position, as there is no cushioning.
I do not think it will work for dogs, their claws will just skid on it, they will not get the purchase a soft pad provides.

It's ok just for nose area, I had it all over my board at one stage and it didn't last, went to wax and then back to regular deck grip.

Think you're barking up the wrong paddle
I would imagine the dog would need a bit more grip to get those toe nails into.

Hexatraction combined with padding.

It works great under foot. It is a tad slick when sitting or lying on the board with a wetsuit.

I'd recomend spending the few extra $ and supporting your local shops.

Ive been using the hexatraction and rspro railtape on the nose area beyond my deckgrip of all my longboard sups
The grip stuck down to the board like **** to a blanket And 2 years later is still super grippy, hasnt lifted and im very happy with it

PS. Im "Proudly Endorsed" by hexatraction and rspro products, Kenalu Paddles, Balin Hardware, Shapers Fins, 1sup1 appareal and DeepOceanBoards

Yep, just done my beloved Creek before a weeks worth of surfing at Merimbula.
Just noticed 2 slight paddle scrapes in the hexatraction that would otherwise have been more serious, or at least more noticeable.
And good grip, for my meagre nose riding skills

I got a pack last Monday and put it on one of my short boards, Go to say its great, thought it might be a bit slippery with a wet suit but its fine.

So good in fact i got another pack for my other board. No more wax

Cheers to the crew at Freo Stand Up Surf Shop
