Heading to Waikiki in late July and thinking i might take the creek rather than hiring a board. Anyone know of a reasonable transfer co to take us from the airport to hotel in Waikiki ??? Have had one quote of over $300 US each way ..NO WAY!

Would suggest a hire car so you can get to the many great surf spots all around the island.

I was in Hawaii in August it's unreal great surf . I hired a car to get around I took boards got great waves at ala Moana beach park just down the road from Waikiki. We stayed at turtle bay and surfed there and also sunset. I was hitting the waves super early to get out before the crowds. Everyone was great as long as your doing the right thing.

I've traveled with windsurf boards and SUPs from Honolulu Airport to Waikiki a number of times. Last time was in May 2017. Just rock up and get a taxi. Boards cost about an extra $5 from memory. Wait in line with everyone else for a taxi. They will see you have a board and will get you a taxi van. Trip including board will cost you about $40-$50 USD

Get onto the BluePlanetSurf website and book a board that suits you. Pay a holding deposit, and they will tag it and keep it aside for you.
They supply legrope, paddle and soft racks with their hire, and they are in Ala Moana on the way to Waikiki from the airport.
They will also drop off or pick up from your hotel.
Super easy.
I left my Creek at home and hired a very similar board, in good condition (9'2" Sweet spot).
Maybe take a good set of fins.
We stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian down towards Ala Moana. Great spot. Used the goods lift to get the board up and down to the room - no hassle.
Water was a 100 metre walk across the sand. And about 5 breaks to choose from within 20 minutes - I mainly surfed "Threes" and "Kaisers".
Nice crowd too - no hassle at all.

Blue Planet were awesome to deal with and a lot less stressful than taking your own board. You couldn't meet better people than Mike and Robert from BP. Nothing was too hard for them and they are well priced . They also give a lot to the industry so I was very happy to support their business

Roberts or Speedie shuttle just make sure you know where they be pick you up at the airport.

Huge vans with heaps of seats and no issue getting big boards inside as well as your family, you will need to book a private shuttle.

Mate went over last year the same time and surfed most the breaks in Waikiki everyday I was there. Stayed 50m from Duke statue..in the water by 5am most days..took the 8'5 speeed and 7'8 minion over and was stoked. Used Charlie's taxi..they dropped the seats put both boards in the back and took us from airport to Waikiki. $40 if I remember. Booked them for the return trip too. Hired a people mover over night and did North shore .

Bomberdave, I actually rang them and arranged it by phone...figured it was worth the cost of the call to make sure it worked out ok...I think I followed up with email after I had spoken to them to confirm board choice and dates etc...when I got to the shop it was all arranged, board was tagged for me, all I had to do was select a paddle, which were also good carbon quality, and the guys in the shop knew what was going on (unlike some places over here)...I hired for 10 days, and it worked out to be US$36/day.
The rates on their hire page are correct...as always it gets cheaper the longer you hire.
I would do the same again.
