Son never did lid, owner of the bodyboard stuck aside my board is still running after me and his lid, hopefully cant get it running after me cause of flippers
I made first son's surfboard when he was very young, now he want to have a go on one of my shortSUP; I'm going to recondition one of my first 6'9" 29" to make him start SUPing with. No problem; I wish the same to all dads around as Cobra love too.

Here the complete left and a right wave surfed during the same session.

Nice clean waves, and with your kid - the best! You do a good job of not using the paddle while surfing, holding it steady to film. Not easy.

I don't understand all yours comments but yours replies make me feel happier , thanks for your comments , Seabreezers.
It's easy to me , Jay, because I don't use my paddle so much while surfing with those under 7' board. I'm using the paddle to put more weight on the inside rail or to enhance the shoulder and head rotation as shorties do with shoulders/head only. As well this wide tail of rectangular shape of board provide a lot of speed and don't have much time to dig a paddle stroke .
Also was the first time i used my son's Gopro. I've been reading here from seabreezers about how to adjust the Gopro on paddle. Finally to not ding my board with the camera mounting seems to be the hardest to do. Also the camera is feeling its weight paddling with.
Next time, I will install it on helmet and bug off shortie's gossips.

I think you should stick with the paddle mount as the view seems better, showing legs and board. The head shots seem to miss something as the wave is flattened more and the board is not there to see the ride.

I try try not to use my paddle as a paddle after catching the wave, but I'm constantly leaning on it or touching the water. When I tried to film with the paddle mount I got hardly any useful video. It is way more difficult then a head mount but looks good if you can manage it.

The best would be a mount that could clip off head, onto paddle, and back onto head for the two views.

You right, paddle view shots are much better specially on my tiny board because I drag my paddle behind me to find stability as bodyboarders do with their leg and flipper. That kind of board is reacting as a body board more than a surfboard cause of its square shape. I'll forget the helmet so

I reckon try shorter boarder this way you might use paddle more tracking behind you than on side. Also hold paddle between body and the face as much as you can ; just switch it for cutback maneuvers/

Hard to switch down up...can be two cameras or a drone

I'm sorry about that mate I avoid floated him over the face up his head
