For those that have the new GoPro 4 they have a new download out and it's good. It just updated my Silver & Black only took 5 mins a camera. Not like the old update which I wasted 2 nights on .

Full geek report below but the stand out features for me are:-

Time Lapse video:- This means it automatically stitches your 100's of pic together in a video format. That is Gold saves you hours.

Auto Rotation:- So no matter what way up mount the camera it records right way up , another big time saver in post production.

30 Shots in 6 secs:- It used to be in 1 sec that was useless you might as well video it.

If you are looking at getting one of the new 4's the Silver is the bomb. The Silver is just so easy to use with the back screen , heaps of battery life , doesn't run hot which means it will fog less in the sun and the vision is just so good. I use the Silver 90% of the time . I do have a LCD for the Black but it is so bulky compared to the Silver and it heats up and rips up the battery. The new cameras are the same size but the case is smaller but it also fits the old case , that's pretty cool Canon would never do that.

just bought the silver today, didn't even know about the update.
Autostitch is an awesome idea. I aged a fair bit on my last timelapse...

So do you even use those sony action cams anymore??

here's a time lapse from the New update shot in 2.7k at 5 second intervals. Unfortunately if you upload to phone/tablet through the app will only play in low res mode haven't tried high res on p.c yet

That's super cool Matt nice job, and no Cam the ions & Sony havecbeen collecting dust for over a year . Nothing can match GoPro .

Thanks piros, have you tried the touchscreen backdoor on the silver in the surf yet ? Would make it easier to change settings just a bit worried about falling and putting a hole in the plastic

Thanks for the info. Just picked my first ever go Pro up the other day ahead of my Koh Samui trip on Wednesday. The camera store said there was an update available and I wasn't going to bother until I get back as I am working pretty well right up to my departure. I just read it and it is a signifiant firmware upgrade. Easy to download and install. Done!

Yeah Matty use the back screen all the time checking playbacks works a treat.
