Heavy traffic at Green point this afternoon lucky I was not at a round about or I would have had to give way?

More tuition from DJ on a cold winters day and hard to keep up with the pack, still can't figure out how to catch bumps without a s..t load of paddling????

Caught a few bumps by luck more than skill but it was easier than the last 2 DW's, but itoy my 3rd so still aloo learn.

I got a 14x27 starbord Allstar /12" atlantis / 10,6" atlantis and a one to pump up. I got 2 different paddels in carbon. I have a shorty wetsuit and will get a wintersuit within the next 14 days.
I got the leash and a bag waterbag.
If i need anything els please let me know and i will get it.

There's three things that come to mind..

A PFD of some kind (bum-bag type will do).. A bright safety colour shirt (orange is best) and a drinking system (camelbak etc).

Your Allstar will be fine.

Most downwind planning is done in Facebook groups these days. It's all gone a bit tribal, with people sticking to small groups. Not like the old days when we'd regularly get up to 20 people on a downwind run and everyone was welcome.

Dunno Tardy I am paddling like mad to keep up with the bumps and they pass me by, DJ said paddle less and catch bumps and then I can't tell what to do, DWing is confusing but interesting.
