GERROA FEST.
The huge weekend at Gerroa is creeping up quickly. Organised by The Sydney Paddle Surfing Club and the NSW Wave Sailing Association the weekend is going to be a great way to demo all of the SUPs from the leading big brands. Fanatic, Naish, Starboard, JP and SIC will all have their demo fleets available for the weekend. That will be over 50 boards.
A downwind race, surf comp, possible BOP and downwind clinics are planned. This is a weekend focused on participation so if you haven't entered a surf comp before or had a go downwinding this is the weekend for you. Many of NSW top downwind paddlers are attending the weekend. We've got crew from the Central Coast, Newcastle, Sydney and Canberra already committed to attend.

Greeting beers at the fisho's Friday night with another get together at the fisho's on Saturday night are the definites.
We are working in with the NSW wavesailing guys who are also running a comp down there and they normally get fired up in the afternoon such leaves us the morning to run the surf comp.
Full details will come soon and we'll also be working around the weather but the plan would be to start the surf comp early Saturday morning and run until it's done. Sunday can be used as a backup day or for an extra expression session style format event.
10' plus divisions will be catered for along with the normal short board divisions.
It's also looking likely a teams format will get a run.
Gerroa as many people know if epic for DWing and the arvos will be filled with that.
No races, just fun Downwinding with some guidance and tips from people who should know what they're taking about.

One of the biggest upsides of the weekend is the DEMO gear!!!
Fanatic, Starboard, Naish, JP Australia and now SIC are all confirmed to bring their full demo fleets.
Over 50 2015 boards will be on the beach to try back to back!
Raceboards, surf boards and even windsups will all be there.

GERROA FEST IS LESS THAN 1 WEEK AWAY.
Just a reminder that the weekend away at Gerroa is here. As we've posted previously this weekend is all about participation. The most successful events like this are flexible and run around the conditions, so the plan is to work in with the wave sailing guys and try to get as much gear out on demo as possible.
The planned format at the moment looks like this.

FRIDAY
7:30pm Rego, meet and greet . Drinks at the Fishos on the hill.

SATURDAY & SUNDAY
6:30 - 8am Surf Comp rego. (Make it closer to 7)
8:30 Surf Comp to begin. We will run this until the wind kicks in and the crew can start sailing.

We're also considering to run a BOP style event as well. As some of NSW's best down wind padddlers will be here for the weekend you'll be able to pick their brains and work out how they link the runs.

The BIG 5 brands will be here all weekend demoing their gear. FANATIC, NAISH, STARBOARD, JP and SIC. Very rarely do you get to demo the 5 best brands in the World over a whole weekend. So come for the weekend and get ready for the next big event at Merimbula.
