Hi, I am looking for some community advice. I want to buy my first SUP but am not sure what direction to go.
i have done a fair bit or recreational boarding and have good balance and fitness. I will be mainly flat water paddling and am thinking about racing for fun too. I really want a fast board for fitness and to enjoy being out on the water.
In my mind at the moment I am considering a Lahui Kai 12'6, a Naish Javelin 12'6 or Starboard GO starshot 10'2.
I have a beginners budget and these are second hand or specials. I weigh 61kg and my other criteria is that I can put it on the roof racks by myself.
I would appreciate any comments!

You can't go wrong with the 12'6" Jav depending on its width.

SIC X-12.6 SCC ... Google them ... I have a 2015 model for sale, perfect for the transition, 28" wide, excellent condition, lightweight 11 kg, well built and has a great EZ-grab handle. I just haven't got around to taking photos and advertising it yet. I'm in Sydney. PM me if interested

Where abouts are you located? heaps of good places around Aus that you can try them out first.

If you are on or around the Goldy we have a used Lahui Kai 12,6 x 26 for $650 which might suit and you are more than happy to test paddle as well.

Try WindSurf'n'Snow in Collaroy. They always have heaps of second hand and ex demo race boards you can try.
