Had a session this morning on small beach break waves and had to re-tune my thinking on bottom turns as the normal method was not cutting the mustard!
With not much wave face to turn on I found myself leaning on the rail and arching back, swinging the board around in a nice little pivot movement, much like surfing a Mal, it made the little peelers a lot of fun, engage the rail, find the pocket of trim and just stand back - Yew!
Cant believe how much bloody fun small waves can be!
I can't wait to get out in some good waves, have had a couple of sessions in Ok size waves, actually found they are easier to get into as they have more energy.
