Wind wasn't quite right for the local dw, so the next best thing was to surf the whole way! how much fun is a 21km 12'6" surf?

How far off-shore are the bommies you surfed - the waves looked pretty big?

The Bommie only about 300m offshore. All other waves broke into the beach and were small. Perfect for the 12'6"!

Have to thank Jeff and Lynda Lim from Psup for getting me onto this run down the points They ran their last Winter Classic on this course but finished at Pines. Hopefully this year we could go all the way! Best way to do your distance paddle on the 12'6".

We were out there on the same day, Flinders to Point Leo. Yes, those bloody bommies are out there, just ask my fin that I lost. We also had a good view of the lifesaving carnival held on the day. It’s a great downwinder saw tooth style.

I can see the bommies from my house - all down Westernport Bay - but they are a long way out. (And they are a good indicator of swell size.) I guess the bommies you are talking about are much closer to shore (300m). Looking at the track you guys took, were they off Shoreham or Point Leo?

Just between Shorham and Point Leo. Great place for inshore runners. By the way the new 10.6 Deep board rides well, being having lots of fun with it. We have to catch up for a paddle when I get back in town.
