Good Tshirt DJ. Obviously Jason Anderson has converted you to BrisSup club here in Brisbane. Great video.

Thanks again for the shirt Jason.. I'm glad I was able to keep it dry because it might not look like it in the vid but it was pretty messy and hard to catch runners.. Let's hope one day I'll get up to Brizzy and join you guys on one of your bay DWers.. Looks like an awesome club that you guys have up there.

No problem David thanks for the plug. It was great to catch up with you and I will ensure I do again when I am next in Melbourne. We wold love to have you on one of our bay runs, especially with the camera rig. ;)

What was the wind direction? I thought it was an Easterly that day, but it looks like more of a southerly on your vid

Also, where did you exit?

Exited at Sandridge Beach, Port Melbourne. It was blowing ESE, and we originally planned to cross the bay to Altona or Williamstown. But looking at the wind and waves from shore, it really looked to be funnelling up to the docks. The video doesn't show it, but we had to make a beeline from Brighton Yacht Club to Point Ormond across the wind and waves so that we could line up better with Sandridge. Most of the action video you see is from the second half of the paddle as we got closer to Sandridge.

I thought that it might have been Sandridge (I've only paddled there once, a few years ago at least).

Anyway, I reckon that would have been a pretty tough paddle - a lot of distance in the cross wind and swell.

Anytime I've done a downwinder on the bay with a "quasi-southerly", it's ended up having a lot of cross wind in it.
