Mate wants me to do a 12km trip on his SUP inflatables soon. With the tide, and residual 'Below Minor Flood' outflow from wilderness river.

As a one-way trip, should we take the inflatable SUP pump? I can put it in a dry bag, then under bungy on the deck.

Last week's micro-adventure.

No need to take a pump IMO.

If your board needs re-inflating within the time it takes to paddle 12km, then it's probably not a safe board to take in the first place. With any decent SUP inflatable, you'd simply pump it to maximum and leave the pump behind. If you suffer from a puncture along the way, a pump won't help.

Ta. We are both new to SUP. Cold water made us think about air contraction.
When I have done multi-day rafting trips, the professional guides and my Landcare group take pumps. The fitting for the pump attachment is the same, and the outer material appears to be the same - hypalon. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypalon#Uses

Thanks for the interest and messages.
We did the trip down the lower Colo River to the junction of the Hawkesbury River yesterday - and we did not take the pump.
