If your board needs re-inflating within the time it takes to paddle 12km, then it's probably not a safe board to take in the first place. With any decent SUP inflatable, you'd simply pump it to maximum and leave the pump behind. If you suffer from a puncture along the way, a pump won't help.
Ta. We are both new to SUP. Cold water made us think about air contraction.
When I have done multi-day rafting trips, the professional guides and my Landcare group take pumps. The fitting for the pump attachment is the same, and the outer material appears to be the same - hypalon.
