Ripping Andrew great video
the 8'4'' is a good size for a hotdog SUP. Simon from DEEP is a great shaper I'd put him in the same class as WOODY

It is 8'4" x 28" x 3.75" and just on 100 litres. An awesome hotdogging board (as Downwinder says) but enough float to deal with my 85kgs. The Innegra glass makes it super strong and feather-weight light.

Here's the kicker - due to shoulder surgery on Monday, I can't use it for about six months so I've got to sell it, and it's going cheap.

A series of dislocations had torn the cartlidge off the bone. Had to get it all sewn back together.

G'day Andrew
My WOODY is 8'4'' x 27'' x 4'' I'm 91kg and get up to 95kg when in Fiji from all the food and beer.
I did my shoulder in 1994 surfing I had to get my mates to take my wetsuit off the doctor had to knock me out and it took him 3 attempts to put my shoulder back in as I was very solid at 32yo. I hat to say it Andrew but your shoulder is ####ed now you will never get back to 100% I used the best shoulder surgeon in Australia at the time Dr Kemp from Newcastle. I was out for 4 months and still have pain to this day.

A lot has changed since 1994, Phill. I've got very good contacts in the medical industry and my guy was highly recommended so here's hoping I end up with a better result than your prognosis.

Good Luck Andrew I know we all have very good contacts in the medical industry even with today surgery you will loose 30% mobility physiotherapy is punishing you'll laugh during therapy as the tears run down your eyes because the pain will be that much, ligaments are a funny thing they are like rubber bands. I know a few people that have gone under the knife in the last 2 years and have not come back 100% key hole surgery 85% open surgery 95%. I had open surgery with one you having.

Interesting analysis, what medical journal have you been conducting your research study for?

Isn't it funny how everyone's surgeon is the best in Oz, yet they aren't the same person....maybe the medical industry has as many state and national titles as SUP.

Personally, AMJ is my journal of choice...

Sheeet! I though I had the best surgeon in the industry!
I reckon I am back to about 90% mobility and little to no pain. I do count myself lucky
I have heard some horror stories (thanks Wazza)!
I had key hole surgery for stabilisation, torn rotator cuff and torn bicept tendon.
A lot depends on the extent of the damage and sticking to the rehab and pushing through the pain.

Hey Casso,

Sorry to hear about your injury mate, having been through 2 heavy duty ops in less than 3 years I have some idea what your going to face.

Proceedures improve every week, a close friend of mine had a double disc replacement done through her navel as it doesnt impinge the back muscles and was up and firing 6 weeks after the op, truely inspiring stuff.

Knowing you I am sure you have done your homework so all will be good.

Kristi and I send you our best wishes for a safe op and a fast rehab.

Phill

Casso, you've got your family and your kids. 6 months out of the water will give you the chance to coach them properly. You have an incredible opportunity rather than a negative experience. You're a legend, but you're not indestructible. Don't worry about the nay sayers,( I know you don't) as you are an intelligent man. Kick back do your remedial exercises and come back with avengance and a couple of grom's that have benefitted from your time out of the water.
