Probably not many volunteers to paddle out and catch a wave in that much juice though.
Compared to Gisborne its like big city surfing
Wash out your mouth Gizzie - sadly there are too many Jaffas surfing there. Been surfing at Raglan on and off since the late 60's, (I'm from Hamilton). You can get away with riding a SUP at Manu Bay or the beach, but unless you're Daniel Kereopa or Hawk don't even think about Indicators. Raglan is a wave machine, unfortunately it's on the International surf tourism circuit, too close to Auckland and the Bay of Plenty - so when the East Coast is flat -guess where they come. It can get uber crowded
There are still waves to be caught if you know where and when to go and Indicators on a good day a fantastic wave to watch, I'm glad to have surfed it when I was younger and the crowds weren't so bad.
