Hi guys,

I got a Molokai for supping long distances.
Just about to go out and use it for the first time, however when filling and then fitting it, I am noticing that I can't get the clip for the tube to make sense.
The yellow plastic piece attached to the tube, that is supposed to fit into the clip doesn't hold it in place at all. As soon as I am doing some air paddle movements, it is deplaced, with the tube now hanging freely over the shoulder, being in the way for paddle strokes.

How is the clip supposed to work in a meaningful way when paddling? I also understand that some of you have used other kinds of clips to be able to drink handsfree without needing to first get hold of the mouthpiece with a hand?

Are you supposed to bite down on the mouthpiece when drinking?

Best get one of the Camelbak insulated drinking tubes that have the support wire in them.
Then all you do is use the single grey plastic clip on the front of the pack and bend/shape the drinking tube into the position that works for you to allow hands free hydration.

The yellow plastic thing on the drinking straw is a whistle and not used as a clip or anything..

Yes you do need to bite down slightly to open the mouth piece to be able to drink.. or it would leak..

btw.. The blue mouth piece on the end of the drinking straw has a slot that is often sealed when new..

Here's a link to a sup review.. www.paddlemonster.com/2014/09/02/gear-review-camelbak-molokai-hydration-pack/

Thanks to you both!

If I want to use the standard tube, where should that go to not be in the way when paddling? Behind the shoulder?
I was thinking that what apparently is a whistle would be used to hold the tube in place, which actually is a bit funny.

I've found with mine that if you run the drinking tube under your arm rather than over your shoulder into the clip then the tube end very conveniently sits about 2" from your mouth. Crane your neck forward and you can have a drink hands free.
